"Curious, I sampled two perfumes from the line: Clean Original and Clean Warm Cotton. The former is advertised as “a fragrance option for those who do not like to smell like a particular perfume.” Rather, it is for those who like to smell like sherbet and self-tanning lotion melting together on the seat of a factory-fresh automobile. Warm Cotton is a stomach-turning mixture of detergent, fabric softener, Soft Scrub, clean bathroom tiles and an office right after the cleaning staff has blasted it with industrial solvents. These are perfumes for people who fear their own bodies, their inner workings and desires. As my friend K said, “They should just call their brand My Vagina’s Dirty.”
